Post Doc Positions
- Postdoctoral Position in Muscle Structure and Function
The Center for Functional MRI (CFMRI) at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the area of musculoskeletal MRI. The postdoctoral researcher will work with an interdisciplinary group of faculty from the CFMRI, the Departments of Radiology, Orthopedics and Bioengineering, and the Center for Scientific Computation in Imaging. Areas of research include (1) the development of novel pulse sequences and image analysis algorithms and (2) application of advanced MRI methods to the study of muscle structure, function, and physiology in both humans and animal models.
The UCSD CFMRI is equipped with two research-dedicated GE 3T shortbore scanners and a Bruker Avance II 7T small animal imaging scanner. More information about the research scope and interdisciplinary team is at the following websites: http://cfmriweb.ucsd.edu, http://muscle.ucsd.edu, and http://csci.ucsd.edu.
Applicant must have a PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Physical Science, or a related field. Candidate must be adept at scientific computing, and experience with MATLAB and C is desirable. Experience in MRI pulse sequence programming is beneficial, but not required.
Please send a CV, a statement of research interests, and the names and contact information for 3 references by e-mail to Dr. Thomas Liu (ttliu@ucsd.edu). Interested candidates may also arrange to discuss the position at the 2011 ISMRM meeting in Montreal.
- Postdoctoral Position in Functional MRI
The Center for Functional MRI at the University of California, San
Diego (UCSD) invites applications for two postdoctoral positions. The research projects will involve the use of simultaneous EEG and fMRI methods to (a) investigate neurovascular coupling mechanisms in both resting-state and functional paradigms, and (b) characterize the spatiotemporal dynamics of unsupervised learning. The UCSD Center for Functional MRI is equipped with two research-dedicated GE 3T HDX short- bore scanners and a 64-channel Brain Products MRI-compatible EEG system. More information about the Center is available at our website: http://cfmriweb.ucsd.edu .Applicant must have a PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Physical Science, Neuroscience, or a related field. Candidate must be adept at
scientific computing, and experience with MATLAB and C is desirable.

- Postdoctoral Position in Arterial Spin Labeling
University of California, San Diego, Center for Functional MRI, San Diego, CA, USA
Posted: 13 April 2007
Description: The Center for Functional MRI at the University of California, San Diego has an NIH funded postdoctoral position open in the area of Arterial Spin Labeling. Three general areas of development include Velocity Selective ASL, Vessel Encoded ASL, and Cardiac ASL. Working in a small group, the postdoctoral researcher will participate in the development of pulse sequences, RF pulse design, computer modeling of the ASL signal, simulation and measurement of tagging efficiencies, testing methods in phantoms and human subjects, data processing, GUI development and image display methods.
Facilities: At the UCSD Center for fMRI, two GE 3T short bore scanners, as well as a 7T small animal system with a GE console are dedicated for research scanning.
Qualifications: Applicant must have a PhD in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering, a Physical Science, or related field. Candidate must be adept at scientific computing, and experience with Matlab and C is desirable. A strong background in MR physics/engineering is desirable, and experience in EPIC pulse sequence programming is helpful.
