Center for Functional MRI In the Department of Radiology

Courses

Biomedical imaging has the potential to transform many disciplines. Imaging is necessarily an interdisciplinary collaboration, and for this reason training at both the pre-doctoral and post-doctoral levels needs to transcend traditional departmental boundaries. To serve this need, faculty from the CFMRI, in collaboration with other colleagues at UCSD, have developed the following courses:

Course Number Description Faculty
SOMI 276A fMRI Foundations Drs. David Dubowitz, Richard Buxton, Frank Haist
SOMI 276B fMRI Design and Analysis Drs. Amanda Bischoff-Grethe, Richard Buxton, David Dubowitz, Frank Haist,
SOMI 276C fMRI Advanced Topics Dr. Richard Buxton

In addition to the formal courses, Dr. Richard Buxton's book Introduction to Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Principles and Techniques (Cambridge University Press, 2nd edition 2009) provides a useful guide to the field for both experienced and novice fMRI investigators.
